The Challenge
It didn’t matter how good of a service Cape Stay offered – when it came to the internet, they were still just another name in the crowd.
Slowly but surely, new competitors were chipping away at Cape Stay’s search ranking. That meant that property owners in Cape Town searching for a reliable and expert management company could very easily find another before they found Cape Stay.
For a business that relied on reliability and a premium service, it wasn’t just a nuisance – it was an actual threat to their growth, authority, and the ability to connect with the right target audience at the right time.
If Cape Stay wanted to make sure that anyone searching for their services was actually able to find them, they were going to need to give their entire online presence a serious upgrade.

The Solution: SEO for Cape Stay
The good news was that Cape Stay knew a good service alone wasn’t enough – they needed to be visible online.
The better news was that we were ready to help. Our approach wasn’t one of a few quick fixes; it was about giving their whole digital presence a serious kick.
The first problem we needed to address was the site itself. It was slow, and clunky. Even before you started optimising a site, that kind of load time and poor mobile usability was hurting Cape Stay in the rankings – not to mention making it difficult for potential clients to actually find what they were looking for.
Speed and mobile optimisation were quick and easy fixes – once those were done we could move onto optimising individual pages.
Title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, it was all redone with the searches of property owners in mind. We even created dedicated service pages to make sure that every page was being optimised for the right keywords.
Of course, no SEO was complete without some keyword research to uncover high value, high conversion, location-specific search terms that connected Cape Stay to the right audience at the right time.
The result? A responsive and fast website, better search rankings, and targeted visitors flowing to the site regularly. And more importantly, they weren’t just visitors, they were people reaching out, booking services, and filling properties.

Technical SEO: Cleaning up the mess
We didn’t have to dig too deep to uncover the huge cracks in Cape Stay’s digital structure. Pages loaded slowly, the mobile experience was clumsy, and the site hadn’t even heard of crawling or indexing.
To users, these issues weren’t obvious. But under the hood, they were putting an invisible ceiling on Cape Stay’s rankings.
We started our cleanup by doing a deep technical SEO audit, looking for problems across page speed, mobile, and indexation.
Then we audited crawlability and readability on each page, making sure that Google could crawl, index, and read each one. We also cleansed the internal linking on the site, making sure users and search engines could easily navigate from one relevant page to the next.
Equipped with Google Search Console and Screaming Frog SEO Spider, we zoomed in on those points of digital friction and eradicated them, one by one.
The result was a website that ran seamlessly for users, and transparently for search engines. As we drove up Cape Stay’s rankings, visitors were rewarded with a first-class digital experience.

On-Page Optimisation: Optimise Every Page
The next step in our SEO process was on-page optimisation and our content audit didn’t disappoint. Cape Stay’s pages were screaming out for help!
Meta descriptions, headers, and image alt text were inconsistent or incorrect. Valuable content that scored highly on the relevancy factor was virtually invisible or even being penalised.
The time for procrastination was over, it was time to get our hands dirty and dive in! Each page on Cape Stay received an SEO facelift: the title tags, meta descriptions, headers, and alt text were reviewed and edited. But we didn’t just focus on inserting keywords, we wanted each page to match the search intent of what was being asked for.
Page structure was optimised so Google could decipher the function of each page, which immediately increased their relevance and potential to rank. We used tools such as Yoast SEO and Moz Pro to monitor our progress and identify gaps.
Our pages are now primed to perform: each one has been carefully designed to take visitors to the right place at the right time.

SEO Optimisation & Ranking Strategy
Cape Stay was nowhere to be seen for their target keywords. Think “Airbnb management”, “short-term rental management in Cape Town”, etc. They were simply invisible to their target audience because they missed these searches.
The competition was swooping in on Cape Stay’s turf and taking up the search share Cape Stay were due.
We rolled up our sleeves and dived in head first. A full-scale SEO attack was deployed by building on a technical foundation, targeted on-page optimisation and, of course, deep keyword research.
Existing pages were crawled and crawled again to ensure keywords were hitting the right targets, internal linking was built to intuitively guide users to relevant pages, and every last corner was dusted off in best-practices.
We measured keyword rankings and overall performance via SEMrush and Ahrefs and monitored closely, pivoting where necessary to target the right traffic and leads.
Before long, Cape Stay was showing up in all the right searches. The ones they cared about. The ones their target audience were using.
And in front of them they went, back to being visible and able to start capturing attention, and bookings.
Content Strategy Development
By now, it was obvious that the website’s architecture was holding Cape Stay back.
There were not nearly enough standalone service pages and the content that was there, wasn’t targeting what people were looking for.
We quickly devised a new content strategy. This involved creating dedicated SEO pages for key services (cleaning, maintenance, listing management, etc). Each of these pages was created to align with user questions and search intent.
We relied on Google Analytics to understand how users were interacting with the website.
We used this information to inform the layout of content in a manner preferred by both visitors and search engines.
The end result was a site that not only looked professional but actually performed well, ranking for what mattered.
Keyword Research and Strategy: Finding the Right Words
Cape Stay had the aesthetics down pat. It had style, it had polish, but at the end of the day, none of that matters if it’s not visible in the right places.
The problem? Visibility. When people were searching for short-term rental services in Cape Town, our site was nowhere to be found, and they were instead visiting the pages of competitors.
We rolled up our sleeves and started going through keyword research. We analysed both short and long-tail phrases, ensuring that each keyword aligned with natural language and directly related back to Cape Stay’s services.
By utilising keyword tools such as SEMrush and Google Keyword Planner, we optimised the approach.
We set up each page to target and capture relevant traffic, zeroing in on the searches that would lead to qualified leads.
The Results
Six months later and we could see it. Cape Stay’s online visibility had increased dramatically—they were establishing themselves as a known market leader for short-term rental management in Cape Town.
They cracked the top 10 on Google.co.za for high-value, industry-specific queries such as:
- Airbnb cleaning service Cape Town
- Vacation rental property management Cape Town

A strategic content strategy with well-researched keywords and good SEO propelled Cape Stay well into the limelight when it came to organic search.
The increase in online visibility wasn’t just statistics, it was real-life exposure. Property owners were seeing them more. Travellers were seeing them more. The result?
Real growth, increased market share, and Cape Stay was being considered as the preferred option for short-term rental management in Cape Town.
